I'm an author, columnist, and teacher. I write funny, heady stories about life for a non-Japanese person living in Japan. Miki is an artist, designer, and all-around renaissance woman. We live in a house we built in a quiet corner of Tokyo. Welcome!
I’m a writer, raised in Brooklyn, braised in Japan. Author of two books and a soon-to-be-released third. I love me some lasagna, The West Wing, House, The Wire, Tonkotsu Ramen, Onsen (Hot Springs) and of course Miki (not necessarily in that order).
Midlife, widowed mom to one tween boy. I write about some of the crazy sh*t grief made me do after my husband died from cancer in 2021.
I was born in Flint, Michigan and raised on a dirt street by loving parents, two sisters and a lot of Green Giant in a can.
