My personal Substack
I write poetry and essays. My work can be found at Santa Fe Writers Project (SFWP), Mom Egg Review, The Poet's Corner, La Libreta, Raising Mothers and the anthology, I Wanna Be Loved By You: Poems on Marilyn Monroe.
Each day discover amazing old school songs significant to that date and their back stories. A daily dose of rare soul, funk, disco and jazz that frees minds and shakes behinds. File under: music, sampling, vinyl records
My work is grounded in 1980s Bushwick, Brooklyn, a neglected Black and Brown neighborhood that I left when I was 13. I return to my home hood in my stories to make visible the invisible, & chronicle my life in the tradition of Esmeralda Santiago.
Exploring what it means to travel through time in a human body, at every phase of life.
